“Realizing womanhood by doing a good turn daily.”
In line with Xavier School’s VMG of forming men and women for others, Scouting has been an integral part of a Xaverian’s life since 2014. Last September 23, 2019, 57 Xavier girls had their Star Scouts Investiture in the John Tiu Ka Cho Multipurpose Center. It was attended by parents and Laguna Council members in the persons of, Tita Linda and Tita Eg.
The Star Scouts Celestial Ceremony started with the doxology led by the Star Scouts followed by the singing of the national anthem. The Magic Carpet Ceremony was the highlight of the program where the Star scouts joyfully sang their cluster rhymes: “Kami’y Mumunting Bright Star…”, “Kami’y Starglow ang ngalan, mumunting kamay laan.” and proudly recited their Promise and Law.
The Star Scouts received their world pin and level pin from the investing officers. The scarf was donned by their parents who eagerly joined the girls on stage and proudly took pictures of them with their full Star Scouts gear on.
To end the ceremony, Tita Eg gave an inspirational message to the girls emphasizing on sharing one’s skills and talents to others. She invited the girls to be confident and showcase their talents to the world because this is one good way on how to spread the scouting spirit and a way to inspire other girls to join the movement. Her message also invited to girls to always be ready to face challenges and live up to our motto, “Laging Handa”- Laging handang magbahagi ng kakayahan at talento sa isa’t isa.
The program ended with a special interpretative song and dance performance from the Star Scouts entitled: Together We Can Change the World. The girls sang their hearts out and pour out their emotions in instilling in the minds of the audience that young girls they may be, if they work together, they can change the world for the better. Moreover, adults are very much needed in this move in changing the world, as the lines goes: “Can’t do this by myself, so I’m asking for your help…”
The investiture is not the end, but only the beginning of each girl’s journey towards realizing their womanhood and the roles they need to do as empowered women of our society by doing a good turn daily and involving themselves in different initiatives in the school community. Star Scouts for God and for Others.
