As various competitions adapt to the current pandemic, our Xaverians continue to use these opportunities to let their light shine.
Results of the recent Singapore Asian Schools Math Olympiad (SASMO) held last May 15, 2021 in both paper and online modes of competition showcased the skills of our dear students in the field of Mathematics as they joined a contingent of 28,760 top math students representing 26 countries.
The following Xavierians were awarded for their outstanding math skills in the following levels:
Grade 5 (primary 5)
Misha Elise Marcelo - Gold
Erik Nathan Estiva - Silver
Grade 10 (Secondary 4)
Noel Stephen Dequito - Gold
SASMO is considered as one of the biggest math competitions in Asia and has grown since its inception in 2006. The competition is designed to cover both school and olympiad math items with the intent to encourage development in mathematical intuition, reasoning, logical, creative and critical thinking.
The awardees all qualify for the Singapore International Math Olympiad Challenge (SIMOC) 2021 to be held on the 24th of July 2021. The competition will be through paper or online mode.
Congratulations to our dear Xavierians. Luceat Lux!
