Re: Use of DMCAB to house HCWs from Qualimed-Sta. Rosa
Dear Students, Parents, Faculty and Staff of Xavier School Nuvali,
Easter greetings! I trust that you are all keeping well during the Enhanced Community Quarantine.
During a time of heightened anxiety and insecurity, I thank those of you who have responded to the Alay Kalinga appeal to assist our janitorial and security personnel, and the families of our Grant-in-Aid students. Your contributions have helped the school provide calamity assistance to them.
Many of you have inquired about enrollment and other details for the coming school year. Please give the school administration and the Board of Trustees a little more time to review all our projections and plans. We will make an announcement before the end of the month.
The Covid-19 pandemic has affected all communities worldwide, and healthcare systems have been severely challenged. In the San Juan campus, our alumni organized the Kalinga Kontra Korona (KKK) initiative to assist the local government and other institutions in the fight to preserve the health of our compatriots.
In the Nuvali campus, I would like to announce that the school granted the request of the nearby Qualimed Hospital to house their healthcare workers for the next several weeks as the hospital is converted into a Covid-19 Treatment Center serving parts of Laguna Province. We are providing temporary accommodations at our David M. Consunji Administration Building (DMCAB) for 70-100 healthcare workers. The hospital has brought in their own mattresses and other items; an official shuttle service will transport the medical personnel to and from the hospital. Health and safety protocols are being observed to keep our campus safe and clean.
At a time when healthcare professionals are being ostracized out of ignorance and fear, Xavier School Nuvali is happy to offer them a temporary home where they can rest and renew themselves for the sustained effort to arrest the spread of the coronavirus. Let us keep them in our prayers and offer our moral support.
Thank you very much.
