Rose Guada Marie V. Manalo of Grade 12- St. Alberto Hurtado won the Harvard University Alumni for Women Empowerment Global Essay Writing Contest 2021 for her work “Love Knows No Borders”.
Manalo, along with five other students from Xavier School Nuvali, was among the 415 students who submitted their essay on the topic “What is the biggest challenge facing women and girls in your country today?”. As one of this year’s winners, she received a certificate of recognition, the Harvard Global WE Book Award, and the opportunity to publish her essay online at www.globalwe-essays.org to become part of an international network of award recipients.
This contest was opened to all senior high students this school year in cooperation with the Harvard University Alumni for Global Women’s Empowerment.
Xavier School Nuvali’s second batch of Tech-Voc Senior High students is beginning specialized training through the Fr Pierre Tritz SJ Scholarship Program. Students will train in Automotive Maintenance at Toyota Motors or Electromechanical Technology at Dual Tech, gaining hands-on experience and preparing for future careers. We wish them success as they start their 5-month training on September 16, 2024.
