Xavier School Nuvali (XSN) takes pride in Cashwell Macanaya (11B) in his excellence in 3D rendering in the Unsplash Awards 2021. He was awarded the best in 3D Renders in November, a category introduced just last year, making him the first recipient of this title. The same photo was also nominated for Unsplash’s Photo of the Year while his other works have previously been featured on the editorial page of Unsplash.
Unsplash has provided the internet free-use images since 2013 by being a platform for photographers to share their work and portfolios online. The Unsplash Awards are a yearly tradition in the website which aims to celebrate and recognize the excellence which their contributors consistently bring to the platform. Among the works which Cash has submitted to the page, his render of an astronaut laying in a green field caught the attention of panelist and Google Chrome’s head of design, Alex Ainslie. He describes the feeling that photo gives him as that of “science fiction writing that removes real-world constraints while offering an opportunity for human reflection.”
XSN promotes the value of magis not only in academic excellence but also in extracurricular activities. May Cash’s dedication to his craft inspire others to create, as he himself has been inspired. Luceat Lux!
